The Ibanez AS is a versatile semi-acoustic guitar that is at home in almost any musical genre. Thanks to the pickups mounted directly in the sustain block, it offers increased sonority, long-lasting sustain, and effective feedback suppression—ideal for both stage and studio use. With the Artstar series, Ibanez combines the traditional connection between jazz and hollow-body electric guitars with professional craftsmanship. Inspired by iconic instruments of that era, the Artstar features high-quality details such as a bone saddle, an ebony fingerboard, and the legendary Super 58 Custom pickups. Even critical eyes will be impressed by the precise workmanship: the exceptionally smooth fretboard surface and careful fretting are of a quality often found only in significantly more expensive instruments. The Artstar embodies both the classic jazz box heritage and the continuous evolution of this genre. The features are also impressive across the board: the three-piece nyatoh/maple neck delivers warm mids and a resonant sound foundation, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard ensures defined basses, fast response, and long-lasting sustain. The medium frets with Artstar Edge processing enable a particularly smooth playing feel and precise control. The solid spruce top promotes an open, lively sound, while the flamed maple back and sides not only impress visually, but also offer a clear, articulate response. The iconic Super 58 pickups deliver moderate output with classic vintage character, accompanied by superior versatility thanks to the Tri-Sound switch, which allows three different sound modes per humbucker. The package is rounded off by the Gibraltar Artist Bridge, which, with its lightweight aluminum frame, ensures natural tone development, rich sustain, and tuning stability, as well as the VT14 tailpiece, which offers additional expressiveness and tuning stability. A sturdy Ibanez hardshell case is included for the best possible protection. The AS Artstar combines traditional jazz aesthetics with modern performance—an instrument for discerning musicians who seek character, versatility, and first-class quality.
