IBANEZ RGD Electric Guitar 6-String - Midnight Shade Flat

The Ibanez RGD is the ultimate metal machine—uncompromisingly designed for modern, low-tuned sounds and maximum performance. Since down-tuning requires particularly precise response and a strong foundation in the bass range, the scale length has been specifically extended by one inch to 26.5". This slightly longer, but not excessively extended scale allows for a powerful, defined sound with tight bass and powerful tonal depth without compromising playability. Despite the extended scale length, the neck is still considered “fast” and is ideal for virtuoso solos, while extra-deep cutaways allow effortless access to the highest positions on the fretboard. At the heart of the instrument is the 5-piece Wizard III neck made of panga panga and walnut, which not only offers outstanding playing comfort thanks to its ultra-flat profile and stable multi-layer construction, but also significantly improves sustain. The Macassar ebony fingerboard delivers precise, tight bass and mids, brilliant highs with strong attack, and a direct, fast response with a rich sustain. The smooth playing feel is supported by jumbo frets, which enable clean articulation and effortless handling, especially when playing solos. Sonically, the RGD combines a premium ash top, which gives the instrument a distinctive, natural look, with an okoume body that provides warm, full low mids and a powerful foundation. The DiMarzio® Fusion Edge pickups—developed in close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio®—deliver a powerful, modern sound with clearly defined highs, tight, compressed bass, and an aggressive presence without the mids losing clarity or sounding muddy. Additional tonal flexibility is provided by the coil-tap switch, which allows you to vary the character of both pickups in an instant. The Gotoh® MG-T locking tuner system ensures maximum tuning stability and faster string changes, while the Gibraltar Standard III bridge with optimized base plate and redesigned string saddles guarantees ergonomic hand support, improved sustain, and efficient vibration transfer. Luminous side dots also facilitate orientation on dark stages and make playing intuitive and safe even in difficult lighting conditions. The Ibanez RGD combines modern metal performance, technical precision, and ergonomic design into an instrument that makes no compromises—perfect for guitarists who expect maximum definition, dynamics, and playing comfort even in the lowest tunings.
