TAMA's stave shell snare drums are constructed using 16 staves of wood that are precisely cut and then bonded together to form a tightly formed 10mm thick shell. The shell fusing process is combined with die-cast hoops to produce a shell that is dense and powerful with a sound that jumps with attack and clarity. The ash model particularly embodies the quick, cutting attack and response. The walnut shell is characterized by a richer, warmer timbre but still with punchy attack.
Warm, balanced sound: The solid walnut wood gives the snare a warm, full and balanced sound with excellent projection and a pleasant, natural overtone series.
Versatility: The snare is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, from jazz and blues to rock and pop. It offers both a warm, soft tone and the possibility of brilliant accents.
Master craftsmanship: Each snare is carefully crafted in Japan by skilled artisans, ensuring the highest quality and durability. The workmanship is exemplary and the oiled natural walnut finish is a real feast for the eyes.
Unique design: the inlays on the outside of the shell make each snare drum unique and give it an individual character.
Optimal tuning: the 8 mm thick maple Sound Focus rings enhance sound projection and ensure precise and stable tuning.
